OIC In the News – December 2014

The holiday season is always a fun time of year at OIC, and this year was no exception. With a little help from some special friends, OIC held a few holiday parties for patients in Los Angeles and Calexico. On December 10, our annual “OIC Toys & Joy!” event garnered the largest crowd we’ve ever had. Santa hovered over OIC in the LAPD helicopter and made a grand entrance seconds after in a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) vehicle. Over 2,000 children received gifts and had the opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. On December 12, Santa made another special visit at Valley Orthopaedic Clinic in Calexico. Patients from OIC’s International Children’s Program received blankets, toys and a special photo. Santa made his final stop at OIC on December 17, where California Highway Patrol officers helped him to distribute toys to patients in the Outpatient Medical Center. Jim Hill, former NFL defensive back and CBS Los Angeles sportscaster, made a special appearance at that event.
