The Board of Directors and Foundation Board of Trustees of Orthopaedic Institue for Children (OIC), a world leader in pediatric orthopaedic treatment, research and education, have elected new leadership. Paul S. Viviano and Christopher C. Martin, FAIA, have been named Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Hilary A. Norton has been named Chairwoman of the Foundation Board of Trustees and William R. Boyd, Jr.has been named Vice Chairman.
“Each of these individuals has demonstrated invaluable guidance and support to OIC,” says Anthony A. Scaduto, M.D., President and CEO. “As we enter our second century of improving the quality of life for children, it is gratifying to know that both of our Boards will be propelled by strong teams with diverse backgrounds in business and community leadership,” added Dr. Scaduto.
Paul S. Viviano, Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. Viviano has been involved with OIC for over five years serving as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee. He is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance HealthCare Services. Prior to joining Alliance in 2003, Mr. Viviano was President and Chief Executive Officer of USC University Hospital and USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. He was a member of the St. Joseph Health System and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Viviano has held executive management positions in the healthcare services industry for more than 30 years, including executive positions with hospitals and hospital systems.
Christopher C. Martin, FAIA, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. Martin has been involved with OIC for 14 years serving as Chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees and Co-Chairman of the Development Committee. He represents the second generation in his family to assume a leadership role at LAOH with his uncle, Albert C. Martin, FAIA having served on the Board for many years. Mr. Martin is Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AC Martin Partners, Inc. He is an active member of a number of prominent professional and business organizations including the Past President of the American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles Chapter, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, where he served as Chairman in 2004. Mr. Martin was a founding member of the Los Angeles Business Improvement District. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from University of Southern California.
Hilary A. Norton, Chairwoman of the Foundation Board of Trustees
Ms. Norton is the first woman in the 100-year history of OIC to chair the Foundation Board of Trustees. Ms. Norton has been involved with OIC for five years, serving as Co-Vice Chairwoman of the Foundation Board of Trustees and Chairwoman of the Governance Committee. Ms. Norton has a 20 year career in public policy advocacy in Los Angeles. She is now Executive Director at Fixing Angelenos Stuck in Traffic (FAST), which is dedicated to implementing practical and cost-effective solutions to the Los Angeles region’s traffic crisis. Ms. Norton holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Wellesley College and a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
Bill Boyd, Vice Chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees
Mr. Boyd has been involved with OIC for three years, serving as Co-Vice Chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Real Estate Committee and Co-Chairman of the Development Committee. He is Senior Managing Director at Charles Dunn Company, based in the firm's Glendale office. Mr. Boyd has a 30-year career in national commercial real estate. Prior to joining Charles Dunn Company in 2009, he served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the L.A. Metro Region for Grubb & Ellis Company. For 17 years Mr. Boyd worked for CBRE in the company’s Los Angeles and Glendale offices. He received his Master’s Degree from the School of Journalism at the University of Southern California.
