Ana's Story

After Ten Years of Dreaming – Ana’s First Dance

For a little girl who can barely stand or walk, dancing may seem an impossible dream. Yet OIC donors were able to fulfill this dream for Ana Gil, who was born with a rare disease that causes extreme bow legs.

Between ages 4 and 14, Ana received a number of surgeries and consistent medical care at OIC that helped straighten and strengthen her legs and changed the course of her life. This care was provided to her family at no cost, thanks to the generosity of our donors.

Now, as she turns 15, Ana is coming of age in her culture, and one of the special celebrations of this birthday is a first dance.

Ana asked to have that dance with her surgeon, Dr. Anthony Scaduto.  Please join Ana in her first dance.
